The Hu’chu is a proof of concept. that it IS possible to build an oceangoing vessel that is based entirely on already recycled materials, is truly, fully recycleable and utilizes only ecological technology to be self-sufficient. All in an effort to minimize its environmental footprint while conducting CO2 neutral ocean conservation
Design
The Hu'chu is a unique boat that combines ruggedness and a vintage airstream aesthetic with farm-inspired elements. Its design features a bare metal exterior, a warm and natural material interieur.
Food
Independent cultivation of fresh food regardless of Location through a vertical hydroponics garden for growing vegetables and herbs without soil, a separate cabinet for growing edible mushrooms and a Spirulina tank for a nutrient-rich addition to the diet
Materials
The Hu’chu is based on materials that are either already recycled, can truly be recycled or decompose completely to minimize its environmental footprint. Recycled Aluminum, Natural Fiber, Reclaimed Wood, Recycled Cork
Energy
Battery recharging through hydrogeneration, solar panels, wind turbines and an alternative energy range extender. Exclusive use of electric energy for appliances. Sails used for propulsion whenever possible. Two electric engines for no-wind situations or emergencies
Water
A sophisticated filtration system of sea and rainwater is utilized to generate high quality drinking water and eliminates the usage of plastic bottles. Using sunlight to heat water while cooling solar panels to maximize output.
No chemicals or micro plastics released into the sea.
The Hu’chu purpose is to support science and ocean conservation while having 0 negative impact on its environment.
With the Hu’chu food will be grown, water will be filtered, solutions will be found and presented, places will be discovered, oceans will be crossed and the energy of the wind and the sun will be harvested to keep this catamaran's heart beating and it's position moving.
Our expertise in Media creation will allow for the high end documentation of the Hu’chu mission to be shared with its audience.
“It is my respect that I would like to share with you. The respect for each other and for the world. I am not an engineer and not a scientist but a guy that fell truly in love with the water and the planet he lives on.”
“There are no words that can describe the love & gratitude I have for the ocean. Its my home and my identity. Im going to do everything possible to protect it and give it the respect it deserves.”
